Anne of Green Gables
Overview
This system includes a fully designed hardcover book and partial interior of "Anne of Green Gables" by L.M. Montgomery. Inspired by Gibson Girl Evelyn Nesbit, this design combines the charm of Edwardian aesthetics with a touch of whimsical elegance, capturing the essence of both Anne Shirley's spirited nature and the romanticism of the era.
Historical Context
Evelyn Nesbit was L.M. Montgomery's inspiration for the titular character of this novel. In designing the cover, I used renowned artist Charles Gibson's style of linework to hone in on this lesser known historical attachment.
Publication Layout and Tech
The interior of this publication was painstakingly designed with the reader in mind. I used grids, parent pages, and paragraph/character styles to be sure that the layout was consistent throughout, and a baseline to maintain legibility.
